

WALKING TOUR CHALLENGE
The National Walking Tour Challenge - Summer 2024 is a marketing campaign encouraging people across the country between Memorial Day and Labor Day to participate in a walking tour and explore their parts of the world.
Primarily a social media campaign, there are earned media opportunities as well. For the first time ever, the CHALLENGE brings together tour operators, tour guides, destination marketing organizations, and tour associations across the US in a collaboration to spark participation in cultural walking tours.

How it works:

On WALKING TOUR CHALLENGE FACEBOOK + INSTAGRAM feature photos and videos of travelers on walking tours submitted by tour professionals across the county. Tour pro FB + IG accounts get tagged. Posts are carousals based on a theme like "family travelers."

When they are tagged, TOUR PROFESSIONALS can generate excitement by sharing on their own FACEBOOK and INSTAGRAM the collaborative WALKING TOUR CHALLENGE posts. It's ready-made super cool content!

Delivery System 3 introduces the Tour Operator's role in providing content for Traveler Socials through the DIGITAL TANGIBLE™ initiative. This custom collectible Social Media Passport Stamp, featuring the City Walking Tour Challenge logo, city name, and tour operator logo, is issued to travelers completing walking tours. Designed for Instagram and Facebook, this initiative fosters engagement and amplifies the Challenge's impact across digital platforms.
